First unit of Bui Project ready to generate power

The much-awaited Bui Power Project will come on stream Friday when the first unit of 133 megawatts (MW) of power is inaugurated. The project, which started in April 2008, is being financed by the governments of Ghana and China. The Chinese government is providing 90 per cent of the funds while Ghana government is taking care of the remainder.
