The Member of Parliament for South Tongu in the Volta Region and Ranking Member of Youth, Sports and Culture Committee of Parliament, Hon. Kobena Woyome has stated that the Committee will compel the Sports Ministry to vomit every money they chopped at Qatar World Cup.
According to reports, Ghana received a whopping sum of nine million from FIFA for qualifying to the World Cup but some reports from the Sports Ministry suggest that the country received 7.9 million dollars and not 9 million as it’s being speculated.
But speaking on the floor of Parliament in reaction to these reports, the MP said that the Committee will make sure that every amount spent at Qatar World Cup is accounted for.
“We here that some transfers have happened in terms of the prize money from FIFA. It was a matter we raised at the committee. The Minister has given us hope that they will be forthcoming with the details by liaising with the FA so that we will see what actually came”.
