Dormaahene has no power to sack Berekum from Bono House of Chiefs – Lawyer Obiri Boahen.
Famous land and chieftancy lawyer, Nana Obiri Boahen, has categorically stated that neither Dormaahene or Bono House of Chiefs have power to sack Berekum from the Regional House of Chiefs.
According to him, the decision by Osaagye Agyemang Badu II, backed by other Bono Chiefs, lacked legal basis because Berekem never erred.
“That decision to sack Berekum from the Bono Regional House of Chiefs has no legal basis because per the Supreme Court decision, nobody has the right to sack them. It is rather going to forment problems in the Bono Region and it’s quite worrying”.
Speaking to Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Me Man Nti programe on Neat FM this afternoon, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen expressed shock at the decision and therefore called for peace to prevail, adding that “the Regional House of Chiefs did not even offer an opportunity to Berekum Traditional Council to explain themselves”.
It would be recalled that Osaagyefo Agyemang Badu, speaking as the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, disclosed that Berekum has been sacked from the Regional House of Chiefs.
